I love Crunch N Munch in the Buttery Toffee flavor. The popcorn they use is light and airy. The toffee coating is not sticky or too hard. I have some extensive dental work in my mouth and I am able to enjoy this without any problems.

There are peanuts in it, but they are minimal. Not overwhelming the mix, just some sprinkled through out. The mix is not too sweet but not at all salty. A delicious snack that I always end up eating way too much of!

This is a great quick snack when you want something “a little sweet, a little salty”. We stock up on this when we go camping in the summer because it is foil packed and stays much fresher than most plastic packaged snacks. This is not the larger-sized boxes, but the 7 serving size (if you only eat 2/3 cup per serving – not much of a chance of that!) so it doesn’t have a chance to get sticky and chewy before it is gone.

Probably, honestly, the best treat out there. The bites are small enough for a cat’s mouth, whereas some I’ve tried seem to be more fit for a dog. These are crunchy and they disappear in seconds. Both cats love them and swallow them whole most of the time. Can’t keep them in the house very long! Highly recommend!

Wow Great Cookies!, February 15, 2012

Ok, I said great cookies and I mean it. I got a box for Valentines day. I love orange flavored chocolate and these have a wonderful chocolate coating. Not a cheap chocolate, a really nice lightly orange flavored chocolate coating over a very crisp fortune cookie. Not a stale fake vanilla flavored one like you often get from restaurants. A nice crunchy not too sweet cookie under just the right amount of smooth dark orange flavored chocolate. You will have to stop yourself eating more than one at a sitting. The fortunes are simple, “you will travel far away”, or “The sooner you start the faster you finish” that sort of thing but who needs a fortune with they have these lovely cookies with their tea or hot cocoa? I am looking forward to trying the other varieties from this company.

Vegetable Lunch Snack Recipes: A Critical Review., February 15, 2012

This series of vegetarian dishes, from breakfast through dinner entrees, comes at a great time for me. A close relative of mine is in the declining moments of his life and a vegetarian diet was prescribed for his condition. Many of the dishes here, green rich in alkaline has had a remarkable effect on his health.

This is one in a series of 6 pdf/ ebooks that author Lisa L. Aston produced that would be a welcomed place in any cook’s repertoire.

There are, however, a couple of things I would I’d like to see changed or even clarified if she decides to print a second edition.

One. Not all vegetarians define themselves by the same rules and as such their diet is sometimes starkly different scope. There are vegetarians who forgo any dairy. There are some that will eat fowl and fish. There are some who’ll eat only vegetables and fish. Something should be addressed before going through the catalog. She could have some kind of index that says some dishes contain dairy. Some ingredients can be substituted with “this,” and so forth.

Additionally, refined sugar is a no-no for many vegetarians. Since many of the dishes call for “sugar” as the ingredient, a simple solution would just be to say “natural (unprocessed) cane sugar” or stevia.

The same argument can be made for salt. Sea salt or rock salt or even Kosher salt is the standard recommendation. But, these are very slight issues.

Nevertheless, this pdf (and “Vegetarian Breakfast recipes”) have a wonderful selection of vegetarian dishes that can easily be consumed at any time of the day. And, the pictures that accompany the recipes are big and extremely appetizing, except for the “roasted green beans.” No amount of anything can get me to eat green beans!

Only get this particular book if you are hungry. If not, the photos will get you that way soon.

I need to begin with letting you know that I am not a vegetarian. However, I do try to eat “lower on the food chain” and go in for healthy eating. So, when Lisa Aston contacted me, asking if I would consider reading and reviewing her cookbooks, I was delighted to check out her recipes. I viewed these recipes using a PDF file in iBook, but also downloaded the sample of each Kindle Book to ensure that the formatting worked correctly.

After reading her other recipe books, I couldn’t help but wonder what culinary delights she had incorporated in this “lunch” oriented book. I found many that I would use not just for lunch, but would also incorporate at other times.

First of all, I was not aware that there was even a such thing as green bean fries … and while I didn’t have any green beans on hand, I added them to my grocery list for this week to try out. Her recipe for Pinto Bean Nachos tells not only how to make the topping for the nachos, but also tells how to make a lower calorie version of the tortilla chips by baking them instead of deep frying them. Of course, her decision to include a recipe for Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries made the whole book a hit for me.

I’m not sure that all of these are recipes I would call “lunch recipes,” but they are all intriguing and can be incorporated in your diet plan easily.

Each recipe has a wonderful color photo (most noticeable on my iPad or if you have Kindle Fire), followed by information about the recipe, the ingredients and the instructions. The photos really do make a difference, because they add a sense of vision to the process. In fact, since the only Table of Contents is to the separate sections, using the photos as a guide in the index section of the iPad was the best way I found of navigating this particular cookbook.

There are many new and original recipes in this book, and while the lack of any kind of listings makes it more difficult to navigate, I suggest that you read through the recipes and use a bookmark to go back to the ones you want to actually use. All can be easily adapted to be used whatever your preferences.

*Special Note – this book includes recipes with eggs and milk, so vegetarians avoiding those will need to look elsewhere.

I really like this product. Not only is it good for you, it has great flavor. It’s not too sweet, and somewhat crunchy. Quite filling. When you are gluten free, this is a great snack to keep with you all the time!!!

The illusion of nutrition… The ingredients aren’t all that wholesome (high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup are the first two ingredients), but these Nutrigrain bars are popular in the office. 3 grams of fat and 130 calories in a bar.

I considered buying these in bulk here on Amazon, then realized that i would be over paying! The very same bars are for a box of 8… to get 48 bars, would would be spending , instead of + (shipping, tax, etc). Plus, then i can choose the variety of flavors we want, not what is pre-boxed. While some of the bulk items here are a deal, many are not!

AMAZING, June 3, 2009

Finally, dried pineapple that is not fluorescent yellow and covered in sugar. Kopali’s dried pineapple is amazingly fresh, tasty, and plain – no sugar or anything else added. I found it to be a perfect snack for on the go, very delicious and feel good as well!! Plus they have a great mission. Hope you all love it as much as I do!

Very fun game, April 11, 2009

= Fun: 

I got this game since I previously played Cooking Mama and Cooking Mama 2 (Dinner With Friends) and I was very excited about it. Now I’ve played it a few times, I’m very happy to have gotten it. With this game if you have previously played either of the Cooking Mama games, then you’ll probably have an idea of what to expect. The format isn’t greatly different from them, it’s still very easy to pick up and figure out.

What I love about these games are, kids can have so much fun with them but an adult can also have a go too. Some of the task may be a little easy for an adult but some may not be (especially if you’re going for gold).

If you haven’t played any of the Cooking Mama games, then the style of the game is a little something like this, your goal is to plant something, such as a tulip but its broken down into stages, seeding, digging a hole, and so on. Theres nice obvious instructions on what to do for each task that needs to be done in order to plant something. There is also directions for you to follow, which is very helpful. My cousin loves this game too as it gives her an idea of how to garden, in a fun way.

Mama is back! And this time she has traded in her whisk for a shovel! That’s right..Mama gardens now!

The setup is virtually the same as in Cooking Mama. You garden things and then you get a grade for it. There are a couple changes that are worth noting however:

One bonus is that the game is in bird’s eye view; you get to roam the garden and select what you want to grow. More options become available as you progress and your garden expands into new areas. You also get more plants to grow as you go along.

Another nice thing is that you can change Mama’s outfits and even decorate your garden with the bonus prizes you earn. This is fun when you want to take a break from gardening.

The major difference with Gardening Mama from Cooking Mama is that instead of just cooking a dish and being done you have to allow your plants to grow. So when you garden something you are not done for a while. There are many steps to garden until you get a finished product. Sometimes you can even make food from a plant. It can get kind of annoying waiting for plants to grow because you have to watch them. If you forget about one Mama will come on the screen and alert you, which gets tedious. But other than that waiting for plants isn’t too bad.

I would recommend this game for any Cooking Mama fan or anyone wanting to try out the series. It is very fun alone or in single-card download mode. The developers have been consistent with the look and gameplay of the series, which keeps it familiar yet still refreshing. A must for all Mama fans!

Let me first say that I love the Cooking Mama games. I’ve played almost all of the games that are out there multiple times- they’re just fun to replay, so I knew what I would be getting myself into when I purchased this game.

Game Synopsis: Gardening Mama takes our favorite gaming character out of the kitchen & into the garden as you attempt to grow a wide variety of flowers, vegetables, & trees.

PROS

1) This game is incredibly simple to play. The directions are pretty clear & less gifted players will still be able to keep up with everything.

2) There’s a wide variety of plants to be grown in this game, from roses to cosmos to grapes. You won’t lack for things to do.

CONS

——–

1) Too much repetition. While there was a ton of repetition in the previous CM games, it was never as obvious as it was for this game. It’s fun but a lot of it gets REALLY old after a while, which will cause many gamers to put this game to the side rather than try to play & beat it over a few days like they would the other CM games.

2) It might have been my DS, but game play was occasionally sluggish- most notably in the bonus screens & whenever I went to change things in the game like Mama’s outfit. Since CM2 wasn’t that slow, I was surprised to see how sluggish this was.

I also sort of had an issue with having to go back & forth between plants, but I was mostly ambivalent about that. It just got a little old when I had to do one part of my gladiolas, then go to the map & visit the orchard in order to work on my apples. There’s a lot of fun to be had in this game overall, but for me the repetition REALLY got on my nerves after a while. You’ll raise some flowers & everything will be the same except for the name of the plant you are growing.

Overall this is still a fun game, just not as fun as the regular CM games. It’s worth playing, but I’d look for a previously played copy rather than a brand spanking new one.

MARSHMALLOW RETURNS AT LAST!, April 3, 1999

In an interview my mother explained, "Every word about Oliver and Marshmallow is true, even to the drawing of them wrapped up in each other’s paws. I know people find this hard to believe, but the bunny was so little and was so convinced that Oliver was his mother, what else could Oliver do? Anyway, we disproved the ancient belief that felines are always at sword’s points with rodents, because this cat and bunny were the best of friends."

Adult readers who had MARSHMALLOW as children may be pleased to know that Smithmark used my mother’s original cover artwork (which survived for 56 years, 30 in my closets) for this reissue. This book has supposedly been reprinted from the original. I saw no indcation that this was abridged. However, I compared it to my older copy, and MANY of the wonderful descriptions have been left out. If you can find an older copyright, get it!

Sweet children’s book, September 30, 2004

I love this book! Children are captivated by the simple familiar characters so clearly described. The story line is sweet and well written, NOT “dumbed down”. There are lots of words on most pages and it takes more than a minute to read which is so helpful in developing attention span. My three year old was taken in completely! ( Not to mention my seven year old!)

The title says it all. I ordered this to make it easier to slice apples for my toddler, but I don’t think it really saved me any time. It took all my wieght just to get this thing to go through a small apple. The blades need to be sharper.

I don’t use the cube attachment much but the slicer . . . our family has used every day for about 5-6 years. part of it is cracked but whatever . . . we still use it. love, love, love it. May be time for a new one though.

These suckers are great! I think you get a good amount for the price, especially since they are organic, which usually leads to higher cost. I was a little worried once I actually saw them because they seem small, like they may have a short “life span;” however, I was surprised to find that they actually hold up for quite awhile. They are sour, but not quite as sour as Sour Patch Kids. They taste good and don’t leave that grimy need-to-brush-your-teeth feeling in your mouth that other sugary candies sometimes do. This is a good product for a good price.

Best assortment of flavors, April 11, 2011

A while ago, I bought a few 30 oz containers of assorted flavor lollipops, but as of the past few months, I’ve been buying these pouches to refill my container at work (using Subscribe and Save!). 2 main reasons: the pouches have what I (and my coworkers) feel are the best flavors, and secondly, because each pouch has the same number of each flavor, which makes for much more even flavor distribution. One problem I had with the containers was sometimes they would have a disproportionate number of one flavor over another. No problems with the pouches! Love the flavors, love the mini size (so you can eat one or many), love the lack of artificial ingredients or corn syrup.
